Our client is a specialised civil contractor renowned for its expertise in delivering complex civil and structural projects. Having secured significant TMR and DRFA projects in Far North Queensland, they are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Initially, you will be based at the precast yard in Brisbane until March (pending the FNQ wet season) before transitioning to a 2/1 FIFO roster on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with TMR standards and best practices.
* Lead and manage quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes for civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with TMR specifications, guidelines, and legislative requirements.
* Monitor and report on quality performance throughout various project stages, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment used in civil construction.
* Review and approve project documentation, including quality plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring adherence to TMR quality standards.
* Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams on quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing quality compliance and client satisfaction.
* Investigate quality issues or non-conformities, initiating corrective and preventive actions as required.
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
* Significant experience in a quality management role within the civil construction industry, with a strong understanding of TMR standards.
* Proven expertise in managing quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and auditing.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Experience with quality management tools, software, and reporting systems.
