Your new role
We are seeking an Ecology Technician to deliver on‐ground works for the management of Yellow Crazy Ants in line with the Yellow Crazy Ant Management Program.
This hands-on role works as part of a small, dedicated team of Ecology Technicians and is supported and guided by the Crew Leader. The position plays an important role in protecting local ecosystems through field-based pest management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver on-ground Yellow Crazy Ant management activities in accordance with program guidelines
* Undertake fieldwork including survey, monitoring, treatment and data collection
* Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
* Accurately record field data and assist with reporting requirements
* Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles used for field operations
* Work collaboratively within a small team under the direction of the Crew Leader
What you'll need to succeed
* A strong interest in ecology, conservation or natural resource management
* Willingness to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying conditions
* Ability to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team
* Good communication skills and attention to detail
* A proactive and safety‐focused approach to work
* White Card
* Manual driving licence
* Previous experience in field ecology, pest management or environmental programs will be highly regarded.
