Responsibilities Lead projects and manage the entire life‑cycle of customer‑facing Appian solutions, from initial scoping to production deployment. Collaborate with clients to define and model business processes, gather functional and technical requirements, and design enterprise‑grade applications that utilize Appian’s platform capabilities.
Work within an agile environment to launch new relational data models, develop REST and SOAP APIs for system integration, and partner with Appian Architects and Technical Delivery Managers. Mentor and guide consultants through fast‑paced software implementations, ensuring best practices in pair programming, stand‑ups, planning, and sprint execution.
Engage with client technical teams and business users throughout the development cycle, driving adoption of process applications and empowering clients to become self‑sufficient in building future solutions.
Qualifications
12+ years of hands‑on software development or technical consulting experience.
B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with a record of leading teams through post‑sale implementations.
Experience defining business processes and gathering functional/technical requirements for clients.
Excellent communication skills, a passion for technology, continuous learning, and an inclination to ask “why” to solve the right problems.
Proficiency with object‑oriented programming and relational databases; experience with database design/data modeling and SQL (queries, joins, views).
Knowledge of software testing practices, including test‑driven development and automated test suites within a CI framework.
Integration experience using APIs such as REST and SOAP, JDBC connections, and web services.
Familiarity with AWS, AI, analytics, machine learning, Google Cloud, application integration, database, developer tools, governance, and elastic containers is preferred.
Willingness to travel (up to 20% of the time) to support customer engagements.
Bilingual in Japanese and English.
