Caffe Primo Dernancourt is seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time Chef to join our busy team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with Caffe Primo's menu and standards.
- Ensure all dishes are presented professionally and maintain consistency in quality and taste.
- Oversee food preparation and maintain a clean and organized kitchen workplace.
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient selection, and inventory management.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders effectively.
- Regularly check the freshness of food and ingredients to maintain high standards.
- Train and supervise junior staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality food preparation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or café.
- A passion for food and cooking and the courage to be creative.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- A passion for food and creativity in presenting dishes.
- Strong team player with good communication skills.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Relevant culinary qualifications will be an advantage.
- Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV in commercial Cookery / Diploma of Hospitality management.
- Must have minimum 1 year of relevant post qualification work experience.
- High Level of communication skills both with front of house and within your team when the pressure is on.
- Experience in maintaining food safety records
