Senior Leading Hand Maintenance
Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced Senior Leading Hand Maintenance to join our Civil Operations team. This is a hands‐on leadership role focused on delivering safe, high‐quality road and drainage maintenance and construction works across the region.
About This Opportunity
In this role you will work under limited direction from the Supervisor Roads & Drainage, providing daily supervision and support to a work crew while also undertaking road and drainage maintenance/construction tasks. You'll plan and coordinate works, lead safety practices, operate and maintain plant and equipment, and deliver responsive customer‐focused outcomes on site.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* Certificate III in Civil Construction (or relevant experience) (Desirable)
* General Construction Safety 'White' Card.
* Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) (Desirable)
* Current QLD 'C' Class Driver Licence (or interstate equivalent).
* Sound experience supervising and motivating small to medium work teams, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring day‐to‐day works.
* Well‐developed experience in road and drainage construction/maintenance, including safe operation and basic maintenance of a range of plant and equipment.
* Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on customer service and representing Council positively on site.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and survey information; competent with relevant technology (work orders, data collection, corporate systems and Microsoft Office).
Our Salary Package
* Stream B Base Annual salary of $67,054.26 - $71,982.46 (the level offered will be dependent on the skills and qualifications as the role is banded L5-7)
* Up to 18% superannuation (Conditions Apply)
