Orange Campus

Permanent Part-Time Part Year (15 hours/week for 41 weeks/year)

Salary package up to $88,427, includes salary ($77,908 – $85,996), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (paid pro rata, based on part time hours completed)

About the role

The Technical Officer – Nursing role supports the delivery of educational services related to nursing through setting up practical classroom demonstrations and activities. The role will also be required to ensure the maintenance of equipment, purchasing, preparation and distribution of teaching resources, and other related administrative functions.

Reporting to the Staffing Pool Coordinator, this position:

* Provides students and staff with appropriate equipment and resource materials as required
* Creates a safe and effective teaching environment through the effective management of equipment, stores and workspaces to meet Work Health and Safety and current industry requirements
* Assists in the purchase and ordering of plant, equipment and consumables
* Provides administrative support to the teaching section to ensure accurate record keeping, financial reporting and the efficient functioning of the teaching section
* Maintains current knowledge of professional practices and requirements through contact with industry stakeholders, professional publications and regular communication with section staff
* Assists with quality assurance and continuous improvement processes to provide consistency and best practice.

Essential Requirements

* A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
* Current registration as Registered Nurse or are an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current nursing practice, including the use of appropriate equipment in nursing procedures, medical terminology and infection control principles
* Demonstrated experience in administration, including inventory management, purchase and maintenance of equipment, and basic financial recording
* The ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
