Cultural Heritage Officer

Rate: $55-65ph
Are you a passionate advocate for cultural heritage with a knack for navigating complex projects? My client is seeking a dedicated Cultural Heritage Officer to join thier dynamic Environmental & Cultural Heritage team in Nerang!
The region is one of the fastest-growing in Southeast Queensland, encompassing a vast area from the NSW border to Springwood and west to the Cunningham Highway, including 1061.017 km of national highway and state-controlled road networks across three local government areas: Gold Coast, Logan City, and Scenic Rim Regional Council. You'll play a vital role in ensuring good governance for various programs and projects, specifically within the Environmental & Cultural Heritage team, which provides specialist advice and services for transport and road infrastructure programs.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:
* Developing and managing Cultural Heritage Management Plans for road infrastructure projects.
* Implementing environmental and cultural heritage guidelines, conducting site investigations, impact assessments, and audits.
* Providing expert advice on Cultural Heritage issues, processes, policy, and legislative requirements to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
* Negotiating outcomes with registered Aboriginal Parties on matters pertaining to cultural heritage to support the delivery of road infrastructure projects.
* Preparing comprehensive reports on Cultural Heritage processes.
* Managing Cultural Heritage consultancies, from developing terms of reference to overseeing implementation of recommendations.
* Managing Cultural Heritage related consultancies including development of terms of reference and project briefs, selection and management of consultants, review of consultancy recommendations and oversee the implementation of the recommendations.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A degree in Heritage Management, Heritage Conservation, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
* A current Class C driver's licence.
* The ability to provide your own safety boots, 100% cotton long-sleeved shirt, 100% cotton long trousers, and a hard hat with a wide brim attachment.
* To undergo employment screening, which may include a criminal history check.
* An OH&S Construction Induction (white card or equivalent) prior to commencing work.
