About the area
The Student Equity and Success team facilitate a high-quality student experience focused on access and support for students, both academic and cocurricular activities that enrich an inclusive student experience. The Student Equity and Success Team is responsible for the oversight of the Student Access and Participation Framework which, through local ownership and accountability, the University community seeks to empower all students to aspire to, achieve and thrive at The University of Western Australia (UWA).
UWA has a range of student equity and access programs through the Student Equity team within Student Life including:
o The Girls+ in Engineering (GiE) program inspires female and non-binary students to take advantage of STEM study and the career pathways, focusing on areas of science where women are underrepresented.
o Aspire UWA works with 70 partner schools and communities in regional Western Australia and Perth to raise aspirations for tertiary education.
o Broadway Connect is a support program for first-year students, offering online mentoring and on-campus events.
o The WA Children’s University Partnership supports underrepresented primary students in Perth and regional WA, fostering lifelong learning.
o Fairway UWA is an academic support program for Year 12 students who are high achievers aiming for university and are experiencing financial disadvantage.

About the opportunity
o Deliver the Girls+ in Engineering (GiE) program, including hands-on workshops, campus events, industry engagements, and regional tours across Western Australia, while supporting current STEM students and contributing to broader Student Equity initiatives.
o Provide high-level marketing and event support by tailoring outreach efforts to the target demographic, engaging the next generation of engineers, and promoting the study of Engineering and STEM disciplines at university.
o Develop and manage strong relationships with partner school representatives and industry stakeholders, collaborating on the co-design of STEM activities, resources, and outreach events that align with engagement goals.
About you
o Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency.
o Substantial relevant marketing, project management and outreach experience.
o Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders to identify needs and deliver outcomes.
o Excellent planning and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
o Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.

o Current Working with Children Check for Western Australia
