Are you an Electrical Estimator who thrives on precision, technical detail, and results?
GPS Electrical Services is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Electrical Estimator to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you’ll prepare accurate tenders and quotations for Electrical Projects including switchboards and associated electrical installation works, across diverse industrial projects in manufacturing, utilities, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and other process-driven industries.
What You’ll Do
Review tender specifications and project requirements in line with AS/NZ standards.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, tenders, and proposals for Electrical works, switchboards and associated deliverables.
Select compliant, cost-effective products and source the best supplier pricing.
Analyse scope, risks, and constructability to prepare accurate price submissions.
Maintain and update cost databases to reflect material and labour market changes.
Contribute to the improvement of estimating processes, including refining costing sheets based on project feedback.
Collaborate with the Automation and Safety teams where required.
Attend client meetings and present proposals as needed.
Attend site and assist customers in creating specifications from time to time.
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works methodically, and values teamwork. You’ll bring:
- A Grade Electrical Licence, or a Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in electrical estimating, switchboard estimating, or design within the Australian market.
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards (AS3000, AS3008, AS61439).
- Ability to interpret electrical SLDs and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with switchboards, MCCs, PLCs, and componentry.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and client-facing.
- Solid computer skills, including Excel and the MS Office Suite and estimating software.
- A genuine interest in expanding your skillset (knowledge of Instrumentation, Hazardous Areas is an advantage).
- Permanent full-time working rights in Australia.
