Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally aware professional to join our team as a First Nations Liaison Officer. This role is critical in building trust and understanding between our service and the local First Nations community.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of organisational understanding of First Nations cultures, assist police officers in communicating effectively with cultural appropriateness, and work collaboratively with QPS members to strengthen community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to organisational understanding of First Nations cultures by providing advice on customs and protocols.
* Assist police officers to communicate effectively with cultural appropriateness.
* Work with QPS members to identify opportunities to strengthen community engagement.
* Provide advice on referral to other community services where necessary.
* Positively engage with First Nations Community Groups and other multicultural groups.
* Identify and link key stakeholders across police, community, and government agencies.
