About The Role
We are seeking applicants with highly developed interpersonal and negotiating skills who are able to develop innovative, outward looking programs within the highly regulated environment of the Western Australian prison system.

The Rehabilitation and Reintegration directorate is accountable for reducing re-offending, protecting the community and directing offenders towards the adoption of law abiding lifestyles.

The Assistant Director Prisoner Employment Programs & Transitional Services is responsible for strategically developing, planning and negotiating prisoner employment and transitional services across a diverse range of industries, organisations, and regions to ensure the achievement of the Department's purpose and strategic business plans.

Successful Applicants Are Expected To

* Manage, coordinate and support Transitional Services to assist sentenced prisoners within six months of release to reintegrate with the community.
* Identify emerging demands for services, strategic operational directions and ensuring integration of expanded or new services with Not for Profit service providers, other Government Departments and the communities throughout the state.
* Manage and coordinate the Prisoner Employment Program & Career and Employment Services.

Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
