About The Role
In this role you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre setting supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from a variety of sources – the member, medical team and command – offering diversity in presentations and support requests. The support you will offer begins with initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting needs. There is scope for the use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests and scope of practice. You will have autonomy to manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members. Additionally, your management of crisis presentations, risk assessment and risk management planning is supported within a multi‐disciplinary team.
Qualifications & Success Factors
To be successful in this role you will have:
* The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
* Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Minimum 2 years post‐graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence‐based interventions defined under the Medicare Schedule.
* Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
* Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).
* Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018‐2023 (desirable).
About Watson Clinic
Watson Clinic is located at HMAS Watson on Sydney's South Head and operates under the technical control of HMAS Kuttabul. It is surrounded by national park and offers services including primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental and physiotherapy. Standard operating hours are 0730‐1600 Monday‐Friday.
