The salary on offer is up to $150k + Super + Salary Packaging.
The Role
Reporting to the GM of HR, you will lead the payroll function nationally, ensuring the accurate, compliant, and efficient delivery of payroll services across multiple business units. This permanent full-time role offers the opportunity to shape payroll strategy, lead system optimisation projects, and oversee a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple sites and jurisdictions
* Ensure compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, tax, and superannuation legislation
* Manage and resolve complex payroll issues, acting as the senior escalation point
* Lead, coach, and develop a small payroll team to deliver timely and accurate outcomes
* Oversee payroll audits, reporting, year-end reconciliations, and data integrity
* Drive payroll system upgrades, automation, and workflow enhancements
* Collaborate with HR and Finance on strategic initiatives including workforce planning and remuneration reviews
* Align payroll operations with organisational goals and evolving compliance requirements
* Oversee integration with rostering systems and ensure award compliance on hours, shifts, and entitlements
* Contribute to workforce cost modelling and reporting to support strategic planning

About You
You're an experienced Payroll Manager with a strong foundation in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments. You lead with integrity, bring a high level of technical expertise, and are passionate about team leadership, compliance, and innovation.
Key Skills and Experience:
* 5+ years' experience in payroll leadership roles
* Expertise in end-to-end payroll processing, including awards, EA's, super, tax, and compliance
* Solid understanding of SCHADS Award and Fair Work legislation
* Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing and mentoring high-performing teams
* Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. Chris21, Preceda, SAP, Aurion) and time & attendance platforms
* Experience driving systems upgrades, audits, and reporting initiatives
* Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT
* Analytical mindset with strong reporting, data integrity, and reconciliation skills
