About Forever Friends Animal Rescue (FFAR)
Established in 2011, Forever Friends Animal Rescue Limited is a registered charity founded and run by animal loving volunteers. We save homeless companion animals and farm animals on death-row in pounds and shelters, provide the necessary rehabilitation and find them loving forever homes. We also operate an Animal Rehabilitation Sanctuary and vet clinic on 100 acres in the Yarra Ranges of Victoria.
We are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors comprising skilled professionals and individuals who are leading subject matter experts. The Board oversees governance, risk, leadership and strategic direction, while a voluntary Operations Committee primarily oversees operational activities across Victoria and beyond. Our CEO and Founder is Saskia Adams and currently we have in excess of 1200 active volunteers.
We are one of the largest rescue organisations in Victoria. To date we have saved more than 14,000 lives and helped more than 11,000 individuals and families experience the joy of safe, happy animal companionship. In 2021 Forever Friends received the nationwide award for Outstanding Rescue Group in the Pet Insurance Australia Companion Animal Rescue Awards.
Our annual turnover is approximately $0.95 million. This is derived from our social enterprise in rehoming animals, our animal health services, our other social enterprise activities, our donations and bequests, corporate support and grants. We have a continual program of supporting and upgrading our facilities and systems in order to provide the best possible experience for the many hundreds of animals we work with each year.
