ABOUT THE ROLE
This role combines business development with account management, acting as Autocab's local presence across Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will support the growth of our SaaS and 3P programmes while maintaining strong, trusted relationships with existing customers and partners.
Given the time zone difference between Australia and the team located in the UK, the role requires someone who can operate independently day to day without close supervision and keep momentum across both sales and account activity. They will be the first point of contact for local fleets while staying in close alignment with the UK sales and delivery teams.
The role reports to Tilly Rostron, Head of Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer management
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing Autocab clients and partners, acting as their primary point of contact across the customer lifecycle and ensuring they feel supported, informed and well served.
Local ownership and autonomy
Operate independently when UK teams are offline, progressing deals, managing customer expectations and resolving local issues. Provide clear and structured updates without needing day to day oversight.
Lead generation and research
Identify new SaaS and 3P opportunities and map the long tail of operators across Australia and New Zealand.
Sales demonstrations and pitching
Deliver effective demonstrations and presentations that clearly articulate Autocab's offering and the value of the Uber Autocab 3P programme.
Pipeline management
Manage the full sales cycle from first outreach to contract signature. Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM updates.
Market insight
Stay close to industry conversations, competitor behaviour and regulatory developments, and feed insights back to Autocab and Uber.
Strategic planning and development
Collaborate with Autocab and Uber teams to plan and execute growth strategies, identify new market opportunities, and build strategic partnerships that could expand product reach and value.
Cross-functional alignment
Work with UK onboarding, product, CS and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support.
Representation and travel
Represent Autocab at customer meetings, industry events and trade shows, with regular travel across Australia and occasional travel to New Zealand.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICIATIONS
* Full time position, part time arrangements are not suitable. This would be a 12-month secondment if the role is offered internally.
* Willingness to travel frequently across Australia and occasionally work UK hours.
* Proven ability to work independently with limited daily oversight due to time zones, while maintaining strong alignment with UK teams.
* 1 to 3 years' experience in business development, sales or account management, ideally within SaaS or transport.
* Customer focused mindset with experience managing accounts or stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for product demonstrations and customer engagement.
* Confident building and maintaining relationships with a variety of people.
* Strategic thinking: The ability to develop and implement creative and effective strategies for growth and problem solving.
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple conversations, travel and CRM detail.
* Proactive, resilient and comfortable working in a fast moving environment, working to sales targets.
* Understanding of the taxi, mobility or transport sector is desirable.
