The Role
Do you love the weird plants and animals in Australia? Would you like to work with Dr Ann Jones to solve mysteries, smash myths and uncover the bizarre truth about nature down under? Are you passionate about public broadcasting?
We are looking for an experienced audio producer to work closely with Dr Ann Jones, to produce exciting stories that will engage and grow audiences.
The Job
* Online content preparation and writing for audio online.
* Generate, research and develop ideas for current stories and promotion.
* Audio production - arrange and brief talent, record and edit sound, conduct pre-recorded interviews and voice reports, file management and editorial evaluation.
* Develop and foster a range of specialist contacts inside and outside the ABC.
* Contribute to and monitor the unit's online social media presence.
About You
You have experience working closely with a presenter, to produce audio programs and online content, including research, scriptwriting, audio editing, and interviewing.
Your Skills And Experience Will Also Include
* Sound independent journalistic awareness, a good sense of storytelling, with a demonstrated interest or experience in specialist science journalism or communication.
* Attention to detail with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks, demands and deadlines under pressure.
* Experience and commitment to producing storytelling across ABC Radio National platforms to grow and engage current audiences.
