The core focus of this role is to draw upon your experience in development approval and detailed design deliverables, to act in a client facing and project leading role. The role will require review and checking of RMA Engineers' technical deliverables, as well as client, consultant and government coordination; to guide projects towards construction readiness.
You may already be acting in this role and have developed a senior level of responsibility, or you may have progressed strongly through doing your own designs and managing your own projects and are looking to step up into the next phase of your career.

The opportunity
In this role you will report to the Civil Team Leader and be responsible for:
Design Review & Technical Oversight
* Review civil designs for subdivisions and land development projects, including: roads, drainage, earthworks, sewer and water infrastructure
* Supervise and check designs comply with council and authority standards, approval conditions, Australian Standards and best-practice engineering outcomes
* Provide clear technical feedback and guidance to designers and junior engineers
* Identify risks, constructability issues, and approval constraints early in the project lifecycle
Project & Client Management
* Act as the project lead and key client contact for allocated projects
* Manage project scope, deliverables, timelines, and consultant inputs
* Liaise and coordinate with clients, authorities and other project consultants to achieve and negotiate approvals for your projects
Internal Leadership & Collaboration
* Work closely with internal design teams to create efficient workflows, high-quality outputs and consistent results for our clients
* Support and mentor junior engineers and designers
* Work closely with internal specialists across Traffic, Storm Water and Construction Management
* Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and technical standards
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
2. At least 3 years of hands on 12d design experience in urban land development with the ability to focus on the detail, from an engineering perspective and constructability perspective
3. 5 plus years of overall post graduate experience; you have designed these projects, but you're now mainly focussed on leading, checking and mentoring projects through DA, OPW and RPEQ certifications
4. RPEQ status (desirable)
5. Demonstrated experience in the land development sector in Queensland and familiarity of codes and standards (state and local)
6. Competency in 12d – including experience in dynamic 12d models and drainage
7. Stormwater management plan preparation and analysis experience will be looked upon favorably
8. An eye for alternative solutions to generate attractive urban outcomes whilst focusing on project costs
9. Demonstrated ability to maintain strong client and team relations
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
11. Experience in managing project budgets, forecasting and profitability
12. Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills
13. Open unrestricted Driver's Licence
14. General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
