About The Role
Our Data Scientists are responsible for designing and developing new digital products and AI solutions for PwC’s firmwide business and our clients.
Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and specify technical solutions.
2. Developing algorithms and heuristics for extracting information from unstructured and semi-structured data sources, cleansing and normalising data at a large scale.
3. Engaging in scaffolding new projects, testing new ideas, pairing with developers, and reviewing pull requests.
4. Producing clean, maintainable, and efficient code to be deployed at scale in Azure cloud.
5. Contributing to team stand-ups and software development lifecycle activities.
6. Participating in firmwide data science and machine learning forums and communities to share ideas and contribute to our body of knowledge.
7. Coaching and mentoring junior data scientists.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Strong Python development experience with modern LLM/ML frameworks.
* Deep knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM workflows, and agentic workflows.
* Experience with VectorDB, including Azure AI Search, pgVector.
* Knowledge of ML models such as regression, boosting models, and deep learning (CNN, RNN) in domains like CV and NLP.
* Experience with RAG pipelines, evaluation, and optimisation.
* Proficiency with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Vector DBs.
* Ability to apply algorithms at scale and derive robust conclusions using scientific methods.
* Research background in ML/LLM model development.
* Experience with microservices, containerisation (Docker), and cloud environments (Azure).
* Strong prompt engineering skills.
* Knowledge of agile SDLC and experience working in agile projects.
Additional preferred skills include experience with message-queueing solutions (RabbitMQ, Kafka), data pipelines, observability standards like OpenTelemetry, and Typescript with ReactJS and NodeJS.
