This position plays a vital role in supporting Australia's marine research programs, combining passion for the ocean with hands-on experience in hydrographic and geophysical survey work.
As a survey specialist, you will embark on exciting voyages aboard the RV Investigator, working up to 85 days per year at sea. Additional allowances apply.
* Conduct hydrographic surveys using echosounders and sub-bottom profilers.
* Maintain troubleshoot and improve survey equipment systems and workflows.
* Process interpret and visualise bathymetric and geophysical datasets to produce mapping products.
* Support sea-going operations including voyage preparation equipment setup and data management.
* Provide technical advice mentoring and collaboration within multidisciplinary research teams.
