You'll work shoulder‐to‐shoulder with military units, support training, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot advanced tactical communications systems in operational conditions.
This isn't a desk job. It's hands‐on, mobile, and mission‐critical — the kind of work that keeps you close to the action without the postings cycle!
You'll work both independently and as part of a highly skilled team, ensuring reliable performance and ongoing support of critical communication systems.
What the role will involve
* Deploying to support military units across Australia (and occasionally overseas)
* Training operators on tactical radio systems and capabilities
* Configuring radios and networks to meet mission requirements
* Advising commanders and planners on communications employment
* Supporting RF and IP‐based networks, including MANET systems
* Running demos, briefings and capability showcases
* Installing and integrating systems on vehicles and platforms
* Troubleshooting faults in the field — quickly and effectively
* Willingness to travel — often and sometimes at short notice
What you'll bring
* Current Commonwealth of Australia security clearance, minimum Negative Vetting (NV1).
* Military communications background essential
* Strong experience with tactical radios (operation, setup, fault finding)
* Understanding of RF networks and tactical comms architecture
* Comfortable working directly with operators and command elements
* Able to work independently, including in remote or austere environments
* Clear communicator — able to deliver concise briefings, instruction, and reporting
Bonus
* TAE (Cert IV Training & Assessment)
* Experience with Battle Management Systems
* 8+ years in a relevant role
