The Royal Australian Mint is a small government agency working within the Commonwealth Government Portfolio of the Treasury. • Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3D engraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard coating, chrome plating, dies inspection and collars manufacture.

• Machinery – operate and maintain minting critical machines.

• Coin Sculpting – design coins, medals, medallions, and token, etc.

• Graphic Design – design coin packaging materials, exhibition graphics, etc.

• Engineering – technical support and manufacturing operations.

About the Branch

The Mint's Human Resources function delivers high quality operational and strategic HR services that support the Mint to achieve its strategic objectives, through its most valuable asset, its People. We partner with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the Mint attracts, develops and retains a skilled, diverse and engaged workforce. Our services also include payroll, recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, complaints and resolution and HR policy development and implementation.

About the Role

The Human Resources Advisor works within the small Human Resources team to provide support of the full spectrum of HR services and support to the Royal Australian Mint. They are provided with the opportunity to work across APS employment and conditions, payroll, recruitment, learning and development, early intervention and rehabilitation/workers compensation, performance and complaints, as well as strategic workforce planning, HR strategy development and cultural initiatives.

The Human Resources Advisor works in conjunction with a small team to deliver HR outcomes for the Mint. This position offers HR practitioners a great opportunity to strengthen their skills across the entire HR life cycle, as well as the opportunity to contribute to broad HR outcomes and strategic development.

The Duties

The duties of this position include:

1. Supporting the completion of accurate and compliant payroll processing in collaboration with the Mint's outsourced payroll provider (Aurion).

2. Administering the HRMIS (Aurion), including liaising with the external provider and supporting users of employee self-service and e-recruitment.

3. Managing incoming employee requests through the HR inbox and providing accurate and timely advice to Mint employees.

4. Coordinating the completion of tasks related to recruitment and on-boarding including reviewing position descriptions and role evaluations.

5. Supporting the drafting, implementation and evaluation of the Mint's workforce plan and associated action plan.

6. Drafting reports, analysing data and providing it in an appropriate, user-friendly manner.

7. Contributing to the development, interpretation, consultation and application of human resource related strategy, policies, procedures and guidance material and providing advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
