Motoryachts Australasia are a premium yacht broker, dealership and service centre located at the North Port Marina in Fremantle.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a boat and general cleaner for the workshop and office areas.
Experience on boats is a must with knowledge of the general cleaning of white boats i.e. products and correct maintenance practices of these vessels exteriors and interiors. In addition this role will be responsible for the general upkeep of the workshop and office area cleanliness.
This role requires strong attention to detail and the physical agility to work in a marine environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Exterior Cleaning: Perform complete vessel washdowns, including the hull and topsides, to remove salt, dirt, and mildew.
* Polishing and Waxing: Apply wax, polish, and protective coatings to gel coat and painted surfaces, using buffers and compounds to remove oxidation and restore shine.
* Interior Detailing: Vacuum carpets; clean and condition vinyl seating, upholstery, windows, and compartments; and sanitize galleys (kitchens) and heads (bathrooms).
* Metal and Teak Care: Polish stainless steel railings and hardware, and clean or apply sealants to teak decks and wood accents.
* Quality Control: Inspect boats for damage or defects and report issues to management.
* Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for.
* Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and marine-specific cleaning products.
* Office and Workshop: Responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of the workshop office and common areas.
* ADHOC: Duties to assist the smooth running of the operations as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Experience: Previous experience in boat detailing, stew, deckhand or a related field is preferred.
* Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
* Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a good work ethic are essential.
* Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Skippers ticket advantageous but not necessary.
