About the role
Working from our Subiaco office, Altrad is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Project Controls Manager to lead the Project Controls function supporting our Australian business.
This leadership role is responsible for driving best-practice project controls processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and providing critical insights into cost, schedule, and performance outcomes. You will lead and develop a team of project controllers and planners/schedulers while partnering closely with operational and commercial stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Lead and provide direction for all project controls activities across the Projects business unit
* Implement, administer, and continuously improve project controls systems, processes, and procedures aligned with AMS
* Oversee project cost, forecasting, earned value, productivity tracking, and performance reporting
* Support month-end financial close processes, including cost/revenue calculations and variance analysis
* Ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate project plans and schedules
* Provide performance commentary and commercial insights to operational leaders
* Identify cost drivers and recommend optimisation strategies
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including streamlining and automation of reporting processes
* Liaise with clients where required to confirm controls methodologies and resolve clarifications
* Lead the development, training, and performance management of Project Controls personnel
About you
You are a confident and solutions-focused project controls leader with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar Project Controls / Controls Management role
* Proven experience within a contracting environment (energy, mining, construction, or related industries)
* Strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and deliverables
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
* Experience using large corporate ERP systems and analysing high-volume data
* Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI experience (preferred)
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting skills
* High attention to detail and commercial acumen
