MARS Building is an established Newcastle based builder, operating across multiple sectors of the construction industry, teaming up with both Public and Private clients. Our Projects range from Heritage Restorations, Multi unit developments, and Commercial Projects. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Design Manager / Coordinator, to take on some exciting design and construct projects in the Residential Class 2 and 3 areas.

The ideal applicant will be required to manage a range of Projects from multi residential to Commercial projects, through the design phases, with all consultants. Reporting to the Construction and Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and guiding our project designs, from concept to completion.
The Role
Main Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Develop a clear understanding of client objectives, expectations, and performance outcomes, with a collaborative approach
* Determine design requirements - brief, timeline, and deliverables, with an eye for detail
* Source, engage, and monitor design consultants, assessing their deliverables, costs, and timeframes. (analytical and negotiation skills will come in handy)
* Coordinate internal and external teams to submit development applications and construction certificates in a timely manner. (being proactive will get you noticed)
* Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
* Review design deliverables, provide best practice solutions/efficiencies, and ensure designs comply with NCC/BCA standards, DBP Act and agreed design requirements. (experienced in regulations and standards)
* Understand design compliance, reporting procedures and processes.
* Demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness when dealing with external design partners and consultants.
* Support project delivery teams as necessary to achieve final occupation certification and handover.
About you
* You will have the qualities listed above.
* Qualification related to Design, Project or Construction Management.
* Solid Building Design Project Manager experience across the entire project development cycle.
* Experience in delivering large mixed use residential/commercial projects with a project value exceeding $10M.
