The role
Job Description
The Company Ord Machining is a family‐owned business that has operated in Kununurra since 1993. We provide manufacturing and repair services to a wide range of industries in the East Kimberley region, including mining, agriculture, construction, transport, marine and tourism. Our services include supply, manufacture and repair of power transmission, material handling, processing and agricultural equipment.
Responsibilities
- Read technical drawings and specifications to determine suitable materials, sequence of operations, and machine settings
- Prepare and adjust machine and equipment controls/settings before use
- Carry out basic maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, minor repairs, and report major defects
- Operate machining plant and equipment
- Ensure all jobs are undertaken in an efficient and professional manner to the highest standard
- Keep work areas safe and clean at all times
- Wear full appropriate PPE at all times in the workshop and on all job sites
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant qualifications considered
- At least 3 years' experience with a range of stationary plant and equipment required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively within a team
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficient in operating a variety of machining tools, plant and equipment
- Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate to skills and experience.
