About the RoleWe are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer who is passionate, curious, and eager to develop hands‑on engineering experience within a highly skilled and collaborative Equipment Engineering (EE) team.
In this role, you’ll contribute directly to the design, development, and continuous improvement of the Daniels Washsmart machine—our purpose‑built, industry‑leading cleaning and decontamination system used across our international network of processing facilities. This is an opportunity to work side‑by‑side with experienced tradespeople, engineers, and global operations partners while honing your technical skills in mechanical design, quality assurance, and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities:Work closely with the Equipment Engineering team to design, model, and refine new and existing mechanical components using SolidWorks. Support prototype development and integrate team feedback throughout the design cyclePerform mechanical analysis through both physical testing and simulation methodsUpdate CAD models and 2D technical drawings in line with Engineering Change Notes (ECNs). Prepare and maintain detailed drawing packs and PDM updates. Create STEP and DXF files for machining and laser‑cutting suppliersProduce manufacturing drawings in accordance with AS1100 standardsWork with production teams to troubleshoot reliability, quality, or operational issues. Analyse production data to identify opportunities for equipment optimisationProvide practical, hands‑on engineering support where neededInspect incoming mechanical parts to ensure they meet drawing specificationsAssist with assembly kit preparation aligned to Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)Able to analyse processes and technical informationPossess a keen eye for detail and a creative mindsetPractical–hands on with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to rollup one’s sleeves to get the job doneKnowledge and experience in SolidWorks (Including 2D drawings,3D solid modelling, sheet metal modelling, multiple part assemblies, configurations, BOMs, etc.) or similarBasic experience producing technical drawings to AS1100Knowledge of tolerances (GD&T)Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with computer systems (Microsoft office suite ,etc.)
