**Safety Advisor - Civil**
This client is a very successful civil construction firm working across major civil infrastructure projects throughout Australia. Due to current expansion plans they are now seeking a safety advisor for their growing successful business
**Responsibilities for this safety advisor role include**:
- Prepare and distribute a monthly HSE report for management
- Ensure Safe Act Observation (SAO) and workplace inspections per week are being conducted by the responsible person in each of the business area
- Ensure the MyOSH system is up to date with training records of new and existing personnel
- Ensure the MyOSH Contractor Management Database is maintained current with supplier / contractor company information, performance reviews and current insurance certificates for all approved suppliers.
- Develop and issue QSE management plans for projects
- Lead site audits as and when required by the business or our clients
- Manage Workers Compensation and Injury Management / Return to Work, to minimize costs and impacts on productivity.
- Understand high risks associated with a construction / civil site and undertaking risk assessments
- Develop and implement a yearly SHE improvement plan including Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound actions. The SHE improvement plan shall be reviewed and endorsed by the Construction Manager and the CEO.
- Meet commitments. Attendance to meetings and meeting deadlines is a key responsibility of the role given its importance in supporting the business and project delivery.
- Maintain client required contractor management systems (e.g. ISNet) by submission of records and data to achieve and maintain "approved contractor" status for all clients
**Requirements for this safety advisor role**:
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Environmental related discipline
- 3 years or more experience in health & safety in a construction environment
- Ability to engage with, and coach company personnel
- An innovative approach to building a strong HSE culture
- A detailed understanding of WHS, Injury Management and Environmental legislation
- Excellent organisation skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
