* Fixed term to 27 February 2026, full-time with possibility of extension
* Current UNE Staff: In taking up this appointment, please be aware your current fixed term or permanent role will cease the day prior to you taking this position
* $107,371 to $124,606 per annum (HEO8) HR to complete
* Plus 17% employer superannuation
* Salary packaging options are available
* 20 days family and domestic violence leave available per annum
* 10 days Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and ceremonial leave per annum
* (Professional Staff) 5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
* Armidale/Remote role. Flexible or hybrid work arrangements available
* For continuing and fixed term positions: Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)

About the role

As the Business Analyst (Rules, Pilot, AI) you will play a critical role in transforming UNE's complex admission rules into a structured format suitable for automation and AI implementation. As a member of the Admissions Tactical Quick Wins project, you will analyze existing admission rules, develop standardization frameworks, and create implementation templates that enable effective automation. You will be responsible for working with academic and administrative stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage of all admission rules while maintaining alignment with TEQSA compliance requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex business logic into implementable specifications.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Demonstrated experience in business analysis with a focus on rules standardization, documentation, and implementation
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies in complex rule sets
* Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and translation into technical specifications
* Knowledge of structured data formats and rule representation methodologies
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
* Experience with agile methodologies and iterative development approaches
* Knowledge of higher education admission processes and regulatory requirements would be highly advantageous.
