Our office in Mount Barker is seeking a Senior Practitioner to play a key role in strengthening social work capability and driving high-quality case management, while building strong professional relationships and providing expert consultation across the department. The role also promotes departmental initiatives, strengthens social work capability, delivers inclusive services for diverse communities, and drives continuous improvement in case management.
This is a single vacancy offered under a dual classification, meaning it will be filled by a qualified Senior Practitioner (AHP2/PO2), depending on the qualifications and suitability of the successful applicant.
Essential Qualification:
* AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.
In this role, you will:
* Contribute to the development and delivery of workplace learning and development opportunities.
* Research new techniques and methodologies which support social and cultural work practice and suggest changes to work practice.
* Assist in planning and preparing of case conferences, assessment panels, court hearings and reports.
* Provide a specialist opinion or recommendation to support Youth Court processes and act as a witness in court proceedings
* Liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders regarding cultural issues, departmental policies, procedures, legislation and staff development needs.
About You:
* You excel at developing and sustaining strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* You have extensive knowledge of the Children's Protection Act, Young Offenders Act and social work/case management methodologies.
* You bring experience in delivering clear, practical social work and case management advice, while contributing to the growth of the team.
* You analyse complex issues, facilitate constructive dialogue, and identify the gap between present and desired outcomes.
Salary:
AHP2 ($91,785 - 106,330 per annum) + 12% superannuation.
* An additional 4% Child Protection Allowance on top of your annual salary.
* Professional Development Allowance, entitlement to claim reimbursement of eligible professional development expenses.
* Qualification Allowance (may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role).
PO2 ($91,565 - $106,074 per annum) + 12% superannuation.
* Additional Child Protection Allowance.
