Service Response are seeking to establish a pool of School Psychologist Consultants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of Term 4, 2026.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Department of Education's Service Planning and Coordination Directorate provides the systems and processes that enable an integrated model of support to schools, enabling them to access the services and advice they need to address their student achievement challenges.
Service Response is a branch of the Service Planning and Coordination Directorate, providing schools, regions and broader systems with operational and system support services including subject matter expertise, psychological advice and tailored consultation related to complex and challenging needs in education.
The Role
Service Response responds to requests for assistance from schools and provides access to expert services and psychological advice, with a focus on schools and students with the most complex and challenging needs.
It also contributes to interagency responses to high risk and complex issues related to child safety and wellbeing.
As a School Psychologist Consultant, you will work flexibly and cooperatively within a diverse and skilled team, building strong working relationships by regularly communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will be part of a team providing consultation to schools, regions and other stakeholders to improve systems and outcomes.
You will facilitate collaboration between lead school psychologists, schools, regions and Statewide Services as well as external agencies in supporting the development of specific intervention programs for students with complex educational needs.
This role offers state-wide experience and the opportunity to influence systems-level change through cross-agency collaboration, policy development, implementation and evaluation.
General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is a requirement to work as a School Psychologist Consultant with the Department of Education.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
Hold general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
Complete the Department's training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
Complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement

Demonstrated high-level ability to communicate and clarify complex concepts, provide feedback and critical evaluation of the management of complex and challenging issues
Demonstrated high-level strategic leadership skills and ability to build capacity, influence systemic policy and undertake interventions and prevention programs
Demonstrated high-level experience in coordinating specialised support and in providing professional learning to various audiences
Demonstrated high-level oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
