Overview-The Project Manager/s will be responsible for the planning, executing, and tracking of approved projects, products and initiatives assigned to them. They will work as part of integrated teams and are responsible for defining, documenting, and managing benefits, products, outcomes, interdependencies, risks, and issues associated with each project.Project Managers are required to complete mandatory project artefacts such as project plans, business requirements agreements, schedules, monthly status reporting, end stage and/or end project closure reports, Assets Under Construction (AUC) and capitalisation reports, and other key documents.Project Managers are expected to manage stakeholders (business and technical) to ensure transparency and clarity of deliverables, dependencies, and agreements are understood. They deliver briefings to relevant stakeholders when decisions and/or escalations are required, and leverage governance forums such as the IT Project Board to ensure any decisions regarding their project is formally documented and approved through established governance. Project Managers are expected to familiarise themselves with commercial, technology architecture, resource, and legislative or compliance guardrails or constraints associated with their projects.
Key duties and responsibilitiesThe Project Manager/s will be responsible for:Documenting a project plan, defining stakeholders, deliverables, milestones, delivery approach and dependencies.Defining a project team structure and establish a project team leveraging agreements with relevant Directors and technical leads for relevant skills and services.Ensuring project activities adhere to client's IMD governance standards and practices.Delivering monthly status reporting inclusive of financial, milestone, and achievement updates for the reporting month and providing insights into key risks and issues for project delivery.Actively engaging in governance and delivery processes and forums within IMD including the IMD Project Board, Monthly Project Management Forums, and Architecture Review Board as required throughout the life of the project.Monitoring and effectively managing project scope, cost, schedule, risks, issues, and expected benefits as required. Engage in formal change processes if any changes to scope, cost, or schedule is required.Preparing material as required to support communication of project outcomes, benefits, and status.Managing stakeholder agreements confirming business requirements and scope.Identifying and managing organisational change management resources and activities required for the project.
Essential criteria1.Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years delivering IT projects of various size and complexity, applying a variety of delivery approaches.2.Experience working in complex ICT environments.3.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.4.Excellent written skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively.Desirable criteria1.Experience working in complex global ICT environments.2.Experience delivering secure government systems.3.Knowledge of and experience applying legislative and compliance controls required for government services including but not limited to the Archives Act 1983, Privacy Act 1988, Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2014, Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Protective Security Policy Framework, Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential 8.4.Experience in complementary or related streams such as business and systems analysis, organisational change management, software testing, applications or infrastructure engineering or support.

Overview-ICT Project Manager with experience working on coordination and delivery management of complex ICT projects. The ICT Project Manager will be expected to participate in quality assurance activities to manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives on various projects.
Key duties and responsibilitiesThe ICT Project Manager will be required to:Undertake effective planning and coordinating of activities to successfully deliver project outcomes.Maintain product backlog and coordinate team activities for effective agile delivery.Project budget and resource planning, coordination and reporting.Plan and execute procurement and logistics activities.Undertake risk management activities for projects, ensuring appropriate and effective governance arrangements are adhered to, supported by comprehensive reporting.Negotiate and cooperate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the achievement of project outcomes.Align project delivery and planning to the broader strategic Departmental objectives.Undertake complex work activities covering technical, resource, financial, people, stakeholders and procedural and governance issues.Adapt quickly with flexibility and capacity to changing demands, priorities and direction.Coordinate the delivery project outcomes in line with architecture alignment, programme delivery and financial outcomes.
Essential criteria1.• Demonstrated experience in successful delivery of ICT agile projects within government.2.• Scrum master qualifications and/or experience.3.• Extensive experience in preparing and presenting project progress reports for Senior Executive.4.• Demonstrated experience and skills with engaging and managing ICT vendors, including approach to markets, evaluation, and delivery management.5.• Ability to manage budget, resources and risks to ensure the successful outcome of projects.6.• A sound understanding of government procurement rules and procedures.
Desirable criteria1.• Project management qualifications, with a sound knowledge of techniques for establishing, planning, monitoring and controlling major ICT projects.2.• Experience working with groups and in workshop environments to produce high quality outcomes.3.• A sound understanding of both project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK) and agile frameworks (Scrum) for delivery of ICT projects.4.• Experience in managing project delivery with Jira, or other similar project tracking software.

Job detailsOur client is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Project Manager to assist with delivery of major ICT Projects in the Division.Key duties and responsibilitiesTechnical Project Managers will be required to:Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, cross-agency collaborations and service providers.Research, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate ICT projects, programs and related initiatives.Negotiate and engage with stakeholders to ensure effective communication, coordination and collaboration for timely and successful outcomes.Identify, manage and resolve project issues, risks, dependencies and constraints.Provide management, coordination, governance and assurance of complex ICT projects.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver desired change, ensuring benefits realisation and agreed outcomes.Represent the team and branch in project governance meetings and provide clear up to date reports on status and the implications of risks on projects to ensure their success.Oversee project resources including delivery partners to ensure a high performing, motivated and well-developed team that delivers results.Provide technical oversight across solution architecture, integrations, data flows and non‑functional requirements.Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams and align delivery with enterprise architecture and roadmaps.Understand and oversee data governance, structured/unstructured data flows and the implications of emerging technologies such as AI and automation on project delivery.Ensure delivery aligns with the Australian Government standards such as Digital Service Standard (DSS), including user‑centred design, inclusion, accessibility and continuous improvement; and meets security, privacy, data governance and operational standards, with clear transition-to-support and service readiness.
Essential criteria1.Relevant ICT qualifications and a minimum of 10 years' experience successfully delivering complex ICT projects and programs with capability to identify, assess and manage project, program and technical risks, constraints, dependencies and compliance requirements in Federal government ICT environments.2.Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, cross-agency collaborations and service providers.3.Recognised project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum) and experience with/ and application of project management frameworks and methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid), including backlog management, iteration planning and release management.4.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for senior and non-technical stakeholders.5.Demonstrated technical acumen spanning solution architecture, integrations/APIs, cloud platforms, DevOps (CI/CD), cybersecurity controls and data management.
