About The Role
Ventia is the Services Contractor managing the Western Roads Upgrade (WRU) road asset under the 20-year Victorian Roads Construction and Maintenance contract. We currently have a position for a Maintenance Supervisor to take responsibility and lead routine maintenance operations teams and assigned subcontractors to deliver network maintenance and incident response services. This role focuses on achieving optimal production and cost outcomes through effective management of direct labour and subcontractors, while ensuring all activities are conducted within a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with the WRU Contract. This is a permanent full‐time position and will be based out of our Laverton North offices.
Role Responsibilities
* Operational leadership to field crews, asset inspectors, and subcontractors, ensuring all works are delivered to specification, on time, within budget, and in line with agreed performance standards.
* Supervisor leads health, safety, environmental, and quality outcomes by embedding a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with legislative, contractual, and organisational requirements.
* Include planning and scheduling maintenance programs, optimising the use of labour, plant, materials, and traffic management resources, and promoting a "right first time" approach to work delivery.
* Accountable for cost control, financial forecasting, KPI performance, and quality assurance, including reviewing completed work, data accuracy, and subcontractor performance.
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement are central to the role, ensuring timely reporting, client updates, and coordination with internal teams, contractors, and external authorities.
* Actively contribute to continuous improvement, workforce capability development, ethical conduct, and the delivery of long-term value for customers and shareholders.
About You
To be successful, you will hold relevant qualifications or equivalent industry experience accompanied with:
* Experience as a supervisor in road maintenance and operations space
* First Aid, White Card, and driver's licence
* Proven capability in safety leadership, quality assurance, and environmental compliance
* Experience delivering work to contractual KPIs, budgets, and programs
* Ability to plan, schedule, and resource maintenance activities effectively
* Sound knowledge of Victorian road management frameworks and standards
