**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION**
A stonemason fabricator/installer turns a slab of raw stone into a beautifully finished product. Specifically, as a Stonemason, you cut, shape, polish, glue, repair and install and must be able to work all types of stone such as natural, engineered and porcelain for a variety of purpose such as kitchen bench tops, bathroom vanities, floor and wall tiles/panels or decorative pieces.
**TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Quality control pieces of stone provided to you before you begin working and after you have completed working the job.
- Processes and fabricate customer and client work orders provided to you by the foremen i.e., cut, shape, glue, polish, seal etc. stone
- Assists in the production i.e., manufacturing, installing, repairing or other tasks involved in client work orders.
- Install stone works i.e., lift, carry, glue joins, modify stone, cabinets etc.
- Assist in the training and development of your colleagues and team i.e., apprentices, new team members etc.
- Ensure that deadlines are met without compromising the quality of the product.
- Ensures health and safety policies in the shop are adhered to and be vocal about hazards.
- Report and participate in the investigation of all incidents and accidents on the shop floor.
- Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangers and hazards.
- Take responsibility for the work by providing solutions to issues and assisting in problem solving.
- Inspect, clean and maintain one's own area, plant, equipment and machinery - you must leave an area you are in better than when you started.
- Operates and utilise shop plant, equipment, and machinery such as forklifts, cranes, material suction units, saws, CNC routers, grinders and required manufacturing equipment.
- Fix and/or organise equipment and machinery to be repaired as necessary.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- As a fabricator - most of the working hours will be spent in factory fabricating and finishing jobs.
- As an installer - most of the working hours will be spent delivering jobs to site and installing.
- Morning shift standard time is 6:30 am - 3 pm
- Afternoon shift standard time is from 1:30 pm - 10 pm
- Weekend hours may be required.
- Standard 40-hour workweek applies, though overtime and Saturdays may be required - particularly during the busy period of the year September to February.
- Some areas of the job site may be hazardous so protective gear (PPE) should be worn as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Stonemasonry qualification
- Warehouse, factory, and shop experience required.
- 4 years as a stonemason
- Working all types of stone natural, engineered, and ultra-compact
**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Worked in a similar role/responsibilities
- 6 years as a stonemason
- Working all types of stone both onsite and in factory
**MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Completed year 10 secondary school
- 2+ years' experience in stone
**PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Completed high school (Year 12)
- CPC32320 - Certificate III in Stonemasonry
- 4+ years' experience in stone
