Quarry Control Room Operator - Devonport, Tasmania
Randstad Tasmania is seeking a dedicated Quarry Control Room Operator to join a leading Tier 1 company in the Devonport region.
This is a great opportunity for a mechanically-minded individual with a keen eye for detail to secure a stable and long-term position.
The Role
As a Quarry Control Room Operator, you'll be the nerve center of the quarry's operations.
Working from a central control room, you'll be responsible for monitoring and controlling the entire process.
This is an independent role where your ability to make quick, informed decisions will be crucial to maintaining efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control quarry operations, including crushing, screening, and conveying systems.
- Work independently to maintain optimal performance and address any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for everyone on site.
- Troubleshoot and respond to alarms or operational faults promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of daily operations.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll need the following:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of quarrying or similar heavy industry processes.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all operational and site regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a control room, quarry, or similar industrial environment is a bonus, however not essential.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or other control systems is preferred, not essential.
