About This Role
The Services Design Manager will lead the coordination and delivery of all utility and building services across multiple projects. Acting as the key technical link between consultants, service authorities, and construction teams, this role ensures services are compliant, cost-efficient, and delivered in line with project programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage service removals, relocations, and new connections
Coordinate services design with consultants and project teams
Obtain and manage utility authority approvals
Review contractor design documentation for compliance and buildability
Prepare services scopes and support procurement
Monitor costs and identify value improvement opportunities
Support construction, commissioning, authority sign-offs, and project close-out
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience Required:
Experience in building services design or coordination within construction or property development
Strong technical understanding of: Electrical (HV/LV, substations, metering), Hydraulic (water, sewer, stormwater), Fire services, Mechanical / HVAC, Communications / NBN infrastructure
Proven experience managing utility authority approvals and connection processes in Queensland
Working knowledge of:
National Construction Code (NCC)
Queensland authority standards and development requirements
D&C design and documentation processes
Ability to review and interpret services drawings, engineering reports, and specifications
Experience managing consultants and contractors
Commercial awareness with exposure to cost control and value engineering
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
