Job Title: Academic Leader
The position of Academic Leader is responsible for leading and guiding colleagues in curriculum development, assessment, and educational leadership. This role requires a strong commitment to closing the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous students, as well as a proven track record of building a culture of high expectations and supporting new teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development: Develop and implement effective curriculum programs that cater to diverse student needs.
* Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments that measure student learning outcomes and provide feedback for improvement.
* Educational Leadership: Provide guidance and support to colleagues in educational leadership roles, promoting collaboration and innovation in teaching and learning.
This position requires successful teaching experience, knowledge of curriculum and assessment, educational leadership skills, well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the Department of Education's Aboriginal education policy.
Selection Criteria:
* Teaching Experience: Proven success in teaching Mathematics 7-12 with a focus on delivering engaging and effective lessons.
* Curriculum Knowledge: Expertise in curriculum design and implementation, including alignment with departmental policies and procedures.
* Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate colleagues, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the key selection criteria and provide examples of how they have applied these skills in their previous teaching roles.
