LET'S EXPLORE THE JOB

As a senior member of our Strategy and Performance team, you will coordinate and lead key elements of Council's strategic planning and performance reporting cycle, working closely with Executive, senior leaders and specialists across our organisation.

While experience in Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) or local government is highly valued, we also welcome people with experience in planning and reporting in a business environment. What's critical is your ability to think strategically, manage complex programs of work, analyse data, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences, including elected officials and the community.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Business Improvement, Project Governance, Financial Planning and Analysis and Capital Planning to strengthen alignment between what Council says it will do, what it funds, and what it delivers.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate Council's strategic planning and performance reporting processes
* Develop and present monthly, quarterly and annual reports against IP&R documents
* Analyse performance data to identify trends, insights and improvement opportunities
* Provide strategic advice to inform organisational planning and decision-making
* Manage corporate performance measurement and benchmarking activities
* Improve systems, tools and processes that support IP&R, including user engagement and training
* Work collaboratively across departments to improve integration between planning, delivery and reporting
* Support continuous improvement in how Council measures performance and reports to the community

LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOUYou're a confident, collaborative professional with strong project management capability and experience in strategic planning, business analysis and performance reporting. You're comfortable working within legislative and governance frameworks and enjoy the structured rhythm of planning, reviewing and reporting year-to-year and quarter-to-quarter.

You work easily across our organisation, collaborating with every department to pull together complex information and turn it into clear, accurate reports for Executive, Council and the community. A strong communicator, you're not afraid to ask questions, challenge constructively and support change, with a focus on continuous improvement, transparency and accountability in how public outcomes are delivered.

You bring:

* A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, or a related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role
* Strong experience in developing corporate plans, strategies and performance reports
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
* Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with a talent for turning data into insight
* Proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence without authority
* Strong organisational and project management capability, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
* A strategic mindset, with the ability to see the bigger picture while understanding organisational complexity
* Experience in local government, a publicly accountable environment, budgeting, or the NSW IP&R Framework is highly regarded but not essential. We will support the right candidate to build capability in this space.
