SalaryRange:Base Salary $72,237 per annum + super, plus overtime and penaltyrates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements andovertime do not form part of the advertised basesalary
Location:Dalrymple Road Depot - Garbutt
In thishands‐on job, you'll be out in the field leading a crew andmaking sure small construction jobs and repairs in our parksand playgrounds get done safely, properly, and ontime.
You'll lookafter the install, fix-up, and upkeep of heaps of Council'sopen space assets, keeping our playgrounds safe for thecommunity and especially the kids who use them every day.You'll run day‐to‐day site operations, organise the crew, sortout materials and equipment, and jump in with practicalknow‐how when problems pop up.
Safety's a bigpart of the gig — you'll keep an eye on traffic management,WH&S, site audits, and make sure everyone's working toCouncil's rules and standards. You'll also watch the budget,report any delays, and help keep jobs on track. Working withyour Team Leaders and the technical guys, you'll help plan thework, keep communication clear, and make sure the team issupported to get the job done right.

Qualifications and Experience
Our idealcandidate will have:
Mandatory
* QLD workingwith children blue card (essential).
* Current manual"C" class driver's licence with the ability to obtain an "MR"driver's licence.
* ConstructionIndustry White Card (30215 QLD).
* Certificate IIIin Horticulture or significant experience in managing on-groundoperational crews in the delivery of allocated Horticulturalwork activities.
* Demonstratedexperience leading personnel in the construction ofinfrastructure related to park and open spaceassets.
* Demonstratedexperience of conducting basic survey and set outtasks.
* Demonstratedexperience in concrete laying and finishing.
* Detailedknowledge of construction materials and theirapplication.
* Demonstratedexperience in the application of Quality Assurance processes,in a civil construction environment.
* Certificateassociated with the successful completion of the Safe WorkingNear Live Exposed Parts training course.
* Senior FirstAid Certificate.
* TrafficManagement Implementation (TMI) accreditation under the Manualof Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Part 3 2016)
* Trade basedbackground – preferably construction landscape or carpentry(highly desirable).
* Knowledge andunderstanding of Australian Playground Safety Standards(AS4685:2021).
* Previousexperience of installation and maintenance of play equipmentand parks assets.
