As a member of the College's Executive Team, the Head of Finance will lead and manage MIC's finance operations and staff by evaluating MIC's financial performance to ensure effective financial reporting, compliance and optimal outcomes. This role will support MIC's vision, mission and strategy.

Contribute to the development and realisation of MIC's goals and objectives by designing and implementing operational strategies and plans;

Assess and report to the Principal on MIC's overall functional performance;

Contribute to the planning of resource allocation to ensure that MIC has sufficient resources such as staff, material and equipment, including utilisation of responsible procurement practices;

Be responsible for the Finance Team; day to day accounting, finance, risk management, payroll, internal control function;

Develop and deliver comprehensive budgets and perform periodic financial analyses, with oversight to the entire Finance and Accounts function, ensuring MIC is fiscally responsible and viable;

Attend all Board meetings as required and report on relevant areas to the Board as directed by the Principal, via the Finance Sub-Committee.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in Finance with formal qualifications, CA or CPA preferred as well as operational management experience. You will have:

• Strong analytical skills and experience operationalising a strategic vision;
• Management, leadership, team building, consulting, negotiation, and facilitation skills, importantly including the generation of trust and loyalty amongst staff;
• Demonstrated Executive level experience in a similar role across financial management, strategy development and execution;
• Resilience and intelligence (both intellect and emotional);
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes and future strategic directions.
