We're seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Systems Engineer. As part of Amazon's infrastructure, you'll be responsible for designing, building and supporting large-scale Windows server environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of networking principles and expert-level Windows administration skills. They should have hands-on experience in system building, hardware troubleshooting and problem-solving. Additionally, they should be proficient in enterprise tooling, particularly SCCM, and solid networking knowledge with Windows administration expertise.

7. Networking and Windows Administration: Strong understanding of networking principles and expert-level Windows administration.
8. Global Deployment: Create scripts and automation tasks applicable to a global server fleet.
9. On call: Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation that supports global customers.
10. Documentation: processes, maintain run-books, and contribute to continuous improvements of Amazon Control Systems support practices. Enhance knowledge sharing and drive process enhancements.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 5+ years of experience in building and supporting large-scale Windows server environments.
* Ability to travel up to 40% of the time and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficiency in enterprise tooling, particularly SCCM, and solid networking knowledge with Windows administration expertise.
* Expertise in automation and scripting, specifically building PowerShell scripts from scratch and deploying them to large server environments; familiarity with additional automation tools and scripting languages.
* Expert understanding of Windows tools such as Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS); experience in patching Windows systems at a large scale.
* Familiarity with additional tools and technologies like Hyper-V, Windows Failover Clustering, and AWS tooling and services; hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and system building.
* Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting priorities, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
