Lecturer: Mathematical Sciences (Academic Level B) Based in UniSA STEM at the Mawson Lakes campus Full-time, fixed term contract until 23 June 2027 Commencement salary: $112,892 per annum (plus 17% superannuation) About the Role
The Lecturer: Mathematical Sciences is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within STEM's undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate programs and for contributing to STEM's research agenda. You will contribute independently and as part of a team to support STEM's teaching and research outcomes in the Mathematical Sciences discipline, with a particular focus on Applied Mathematics including dynamics, modelling, computation and related fields, and will carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly research and/or professional activities.
Core Responsibilities Lead and contribute to the design and development of engaging, relevant and technology-enhanced curricula for identified programs and courses Deliver high-quality teaching that is informed by relevant research, scholarship and industry practice and use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery, as demonstrated via a range of University approved data sources (e.g. student outcomes, student feedback, peer review) Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team that results in publications in academic journals and the presentation of conference papers, where appropriate Contribute to external activities that add to the public knowledge of the discipline and have a positive impact on the reputation of the University Undertake course coordination and/or provide leadership to Level A academic staff in the teaching team Essential Skills and Experience A doctoral qualification in Mathematical Sciences or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience Demonstrated ability to undertake research that contributes to UniSA's research strengths and strategic directions in Mathematical Sciences, with a particular focus on Applied Mathematics including dynamics, modelling, computation and related fields An emerging record of research publications, student supervision and/or grant acquisition, relative to experience Demonstrated record of the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences in the areas of Mathematical Sciences in a range of settings and student experience levels Understanding and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies for excellent curriculum delivery Benefits
