About the role

Our medical specialist clinic administrative assistant is responsible for the delivery of confidential, efficient, consumer focussed administrative support that ensures equity of access to care for patients, in accordance with Barwon Health values and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

* Provision of clerical and reception services in a confidential and accurate manner in accordance with Barwon Health policies and procedures
* Contribute to and assist the Program Manager, Acute Medical Specialist Clinics and Clerical Team Leader in maintaining efficient reception service delivery
* Establish and maintain effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team
* Provision of accurate data entry in compliance with reporting standards
* Flexibility to work within the structure of the gastroenterology clinic to meet the demand of the service

What we're looking for

* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or 2–3 years' industry experience in a related field
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with consumers, families, and healthcare professionals
* Demonstrated commitment to high-quality customer service, professionalism, and teamwork
* Proficient computer and health technology skills, with the ability to adapt to informatics systems
* Experience in continuous improvement processes and the ability to supervise, guide, and support team members while undertaking administrative tasks
