The Opportunity
Due to the retirement of a long-standing team member, our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter/Motor Rewinder to join its growing Service division in Cairns. The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Motors and Rewinding team, supported by an extensive national capability and genuine career progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Rewind AC and DC electric motors and armatures: winding data collection, coil manufacture, rewinding, varnishing, baking, and final testing.
* Disassemble, assess, and reassemble pumps, generators, electric motors and gearboxes, recording and reporting any damages.
* Safely perform all required electrical tests and maintain accurate job documentation, including photos during dismantling and assembly as per company procedures.
* Repair and replace products associated with electrical motors.
* Work according to our client's WHS and Quality systems, ensuring best practice and safety at all times.
* Participate in ongoing training and skill development.
Candidate Profile
* Mandatory: Electrical Trade Certificate (Electrical Fitter Motor Rewinder).
* Advantageous: HRW Forklift Licence, machining and dynamic balancing experience, broad technical knowledge of AC/DC motors from fractional HP to large machines.
* Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
* Excellent attention to detail, written reports, and interpersonal communication.

Salary & Benefits
* Hourly Rate: $46 - $55 + Super
* Annual Salary: depending on experience.
