Location: Brisbane Remuneration/Benefit: Negotiable About the role: As a Category Lead within Aurizon's Procurement Enterprise Services division, you will play a critical leadership role in delivering strategic commercial procurement and supply chain outcomes across the Bulk and Containerised Freight portfolios.
You will provide end-to-end source-to-contract expertise, lead supplier and contract management for Tier 1 suppliers, identify and deliver cost savings, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across your category which includes procurement of Mobile Plant Equipment as well as Freight Logistics services across Aurizon's operations.
Deliver end-to-end procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management within your category.
Manage commercial relationships with Tier 1 suppliers to optimise value and performance.
Partner with key business stakeholders to understand operational and strategic priorities.
Identify commercial opportunities, cost savings, and aggregation benefits.
Lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring and development.
Ensure adherence to legislation (e.g., Competition and Consumer Act), legal principles and corporate policies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using strong commercial and business acumen.
We're looking for someone with: Extensive commercial negotiation and contract management experience.
Bachelor of Business or related discipline.
Professional commercial accreditation (e.g., CIPS, CA, CPA, CFA) – preferred.
Experience in leading and managing Transport Logistics contracts - preferred Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in complex operational environments.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
High-level analytical, problem-solving and commercial insight skills.
