Ongoing, full-time role based in Broadmeadows Make a difference in reducing over representation of Aboriginal people in the criminal justice system Salary banding of $97,955 - $111,142 plus superannuation This is a prioritised role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. About the role: The Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager will be responsible for managing a case load of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal persons to deliver dynamic evidence based best practice in the case management of individuals with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences. This role may also require you to assist in assessing client's suitability for corrections orders and attendance to provide advice to the Koori Court. Key responsibilities include: Develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal persons Identify and evaluate factors that relate to individual offending behaviour and provide individualised risk assessment Provide advice to senior management and community-based teams on effective case management of Aboriginal persons Develop relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other organisations that support and strengthen the case management of Aboriginal persons Manage a caseload and develop rapport with individuals to address offending behaviour and complete corrections orders About you: Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and the issues impacting on it Demonstrated experience and knowledge of best practice case management frameworks Ability to implement theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate For more details on the position please review the position description attached or contact: Marissa Simoglou – Manager, Court Practice on 0455 552 835 Why work with us?
