Smoke Alarm Solutions is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager who will be based in Townsville and service regional Queensland, prospecting and growing our footprint across the region.

About Us
Smoke Alarm Solutions is Queensland’s longest running smoke alarm compliance business. We are a trusted partner of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) and have built a strong and credible presence in the market.
Due to legislative changes requiring all Queensland homes to have interconnected smoke alarms installed by January 2027, we are experiencing significant growth and demand for our services.
Queensland records over 1,600 residential house fires annually, with an average of around 10 fire-related deaths each year. Working with us means being part of a business that directly contributes to saving lives.
About the Role
You will be based in Townsville, servicing and growing our client base across regional Queensland.
Our clients are real estate agents and private landlords, and relationships are at the core of what we do.
In this role, you will:
* Prospect and develop new business opportunities across regional Queensland
* Build, manage and grow your own portfolio of clients
* Nurture long-term relationships with property managers and real estate agents
* Conduct new sales visits, cold calling and proactive outreach
* Educate clients on compliance requirements and legislative changes
* Manage and expand existing accounts
* Travel regularly throughout the region (overnight travel required at least fortnightly)
This role will suit someone who enjoys the autonomy of being on the road, managing their own schedule, and taking ownership of growing their region. Success comes from consistent activity, strong relationship building, and a genuine desire to help clients.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Professional, or experienced Property Manager
* Confidence in prospecting, cold calling and securing new business
* Strong relationship management and communication skills
* A self-motivated mindset and ability to work autonomously
* A passion for making a meaningful impact
