Medical Receptionist

Upper Limbs & Beyond | Mackay, QLD | $33-$36/hr | Negotiable hours | Immediate start

We don't just want someone to answer phones. We want someone who owns the front desk - and everything that flows from it.

This is a full-ownership role at the centre of a specialist allied health clinic. If you thrive on responsibility, run toward detail, and take pride in making things work - read on.

THE ROLE

You'll manage the complete patient journey - from first contact through to appointment close - while keeping daily clinic operations running smoothly. Your work means clinicians can stay 100% focused on delivering exceptional care.

You'll also spend around 5 hours a week planning and scheduling social media content to keep our brand consistent and professional.

This is not a passive front desk role. It's an ownership position with real responsibility and visible impact on every person who walks through our door.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Patient & Referrer Experience

- Welcome every visitor professionally and warmly

- Manage calls, bookings and communications efficiently

- Prepare patient information ahead of each appointment

- Ensure patients know what to expect before they arrive

- Keep the front desk calm, organised and reliable at all times

Administration & Operations

- Scheduling that supports smooth daily clinical flow

- Billing, payments and reconciliation

- Accurate documentation and records management

- Stock management and clinic readiness

- Confident with computers and clinic software

Brand & Social Media (approx. 5 hrs/week)

- Plan, create and schedule social media content

- Maintain a consistent, professional brand presence

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

We hire on attitude and standards first. Allied health experience is a bonus, not the bar.

Required:

- Reception or administrative experience

- Strong computer and systems literacy

- Clear written and verbal communication

- Billing or payment processing exposure

Advantageous:

- Medical or allied health background

- Mac-based systems experience

- Medicare / private health billing

- Social media scheduling experience
