Job Summary : In this role you will conduct field investigations, testing and analysis, and liaise with stakeholders to monitor the success work scope designs.
Your primary accountability will include field Geotechnical and Civil engineering activities associated with the construction of roads, civil foundations, ROM wall and backfill, stockpile foundations and drainage including installation of geotextiles and management of waste rock.
This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster Major Responsibilities: Completion of field testing, inspections, and processing of related construction engineering documentation.
Documentation will include various soil test records, construction completion records, as built drawings and non-conformance reports Collecting and evaluating geotechnical data Analysing soil and rock properties (e.g., cohesion, friction angle, moisture content) Assessing slope failure risks based on geological and hydrological conditions Preparing technical reports with recommendations for mitigation Communicating findings to project managers, safety teams, and stakeholders Responsible for the activities of assigned construction engineers, such as the application of drawings, specifications, and subcontracts Respond to technical queries from construction stakeholders with technical solutions that are considerate of costs and quality objectives Complete field inspections to ascertain the completions status of civil construction scopes, including the completion of related documentation Contribute to the technical teams work to progress critical works scope by assisting with options analysis and detailed scoping Works with various functions to ensure the project achieves corporate goals set for environmental, safety
