* Salary: $124,000 – $160,000 package
* Top-tier consultancy with deep pockets for development.
* Working with the National Head of Ecology.
As a Senior Ecologist, step into a Top-Tier consultancy that actually wants to invest in your profile - not hide you under layers of hierarchy. This is the chance to work directly with the National Head of Ecology, build technical influence, and become a go-to ecological advisor across NSW.
You'll have the runway to lead projects, shape ecological advice, deepen client relationships, and solidify your credibility in a team that values technical leadership over bureaucracy. If you've been operating as a Senior but haven't had the platform to grow, this is that next step.
The Role
You'll run ecological assessments across NSW, with opportunities to support interstate work in VIC and QLD. The role suits someone confident in delivery who wants more influence - leading field programs, guiding methodology, mentoring early-career ecologists and contributing directly to client outcomes.
You will:
* Lead flora assessments, impact studies and ecological advice (fauna backgrounds also considered)
* Manage field programs and reporting with autonomy
* Support clients through constraints, design implications and approval pathways
* Mentor and guide juniors day-to-day
* Work closely with the National Head of Ecology on project direction and quality
* Contribute to building the ecology capability and national profile
* Ideally hold BAM accreditation, or be motivated to attain it with full support
Who You'll Work With
You'll be embedded in a highly supported national team, working directly with an experienced National Ecology Lead who is intentional about developing the next generation of leaders. The environment is professional, confident and technically strong - without the ego or red tape of more traditional top-tier structures.
It suits someone who enjoys high-quality work, collaboration across offices, and a role where influence and technical depth matter.
What You'll Bring:
* Proven Senior-level ecological consulting experience
* Flora ecology background preferred; strong fauna profiles also welcomed
* BAM accreditation (or motivation to achieve it)
* Experience leading field programs and reporting
* Confidence engaging with clients and guiding methodology
* Desire to step up, mentor and grow within a national function
