About the Role: As a Chef, you will report to the Head Chef. We are looking for an experienced and qualified candidate. This is a Full-time role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supervise and direct the activities of the kitchen personnel.
* Perform tasks methodically, adhere to work schedules, and organize materials and equipment essential for daily operations.
* Plan menus, oversee the preparation and cooking of diverse cuisines for dinner services and breakfast offerings.
* Ensure that any food allergies or dietary restrictions are accommodated.
* Maintain a clean, hygienic environment in the kitchen, utensils, dining area, cool room, storeroom, and other storage spaces.
* Prepare orders for supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels based on anticipated guest numbers.
* Conduct regular inventory checks and stock-taking activities.
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
* Comply with all requirements of the Work Health and Safety Legislation.
* Support a positive health and safety culture.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (or equivalent) or 3 years full-time relevant experience required to replace qualification.
* At least 2 years full-time relevant experience or 3 years full-time relevant experience if no relevant qualification.
* Proven knowledge of food safety and Work Health and Safety Legislation.
* Practices a hands-on, active management approach, directly involved in kitchen operations.
* Possesses extensive expertise and skills in all areas of a commercial kitchen environment.
* Able to foster a cohesive, positive team culture and lead the kitchen staff by demonstrating desired behaviours.
* Leads from the front, setting an example through own actions and work ethic for others to follow.
Job Type: Permanent Full-time
Pay: $73,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year (plus Superannuation)
Work Location: In Person
SCHEDULE:
* 8 hour shift
* Evening shift
* Rotating roster
* Weekend availability
